Make an impression on your guests or just liven up a weeknight dessert with these creative ways to serve pie!
1 – Mini Pies
Mehaffies’ Mini Fresh Strawberry Pie is a small treat that’s big on flavor!
Who doesn’t love a tiny dessert, sized perfectly for them? Mini pies aren’t only cute, they also allow you to serve multiple desserts without breaking the bank. By serving mini pies, your guests can each have just what they want for dessert.
At Mehaffies Pies, we sell miniature versions of most of our fruit pies each day in the bakery. Or you can call ahead to place an order to get exactly what you need for your event, whether you want a dozen or 1,700 like our friends at Silfex!
2 – Stacked Pies
If you can’t decide which pie you want, stacking pies is an unexpected solution!
We love this idea for a memorable wedding dessert, and you can even stack them yourself with complementary flavors like a tower of Berry pies or layers of Peanut Butter, Chocolate and Banana pies.
3 – Pie Parfait Shooters
An excellent choice if you want to serve a small treat, or have guests who will be mingling – take your favorite pies and layer them in shooter glasses. In between the layers of pies you can add fresh fruit, whipped cream or ice cream. Serve with a long spoon, or encourage your guests to “shoot” the dessert!
4 – DIY Pie Bar
If you don’t mind getting messy, a DIY Pie Bar is the way to go. Provide your guests with all the elements they need to make their own pies – crusts, fillings, and toppings!
We suggest providing mini-sized crusts in tins as the base, and adding a variety of puddings, fresh fruit and pie fillings to choose from to your pie bar. Guests can finish off their DIY pie with whipped cream, crumbled crust or whatever else you can imagine.
5 – Pie Sundaes
Like pie a la mode, but better! Pie Sundaes can be made from your favorite flavors of pie and ice cream. Cutting pie into smaller pieces will help create the perfect ratio of pie to ice cream. Plus, Pie Sundaes are an excellent way to get creative with leftover pies after a holiday.
We sell Young’s Jersey Dairy Ice cream at Mehaffies, so you can pick up a pint to go along with your pie and try them together as a sundae!
